A Geometric Model to Explain the Trinity



Three distinct persons,
One Infinite God


Three distinct shapes,
One Infinite pattern

As a backdrop to explain the trinity, the following are some quotes from Jesus:

"You may know and understand that I am in the Father and the Father is in me"
(John 10:38)

"I and the Father are One"
(John 10:30)

"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works."
(John 14:10)


This website is intended to give an explanation of the Trinity. The doctrine of the Trinity is the idea of One God with three distinct persons but still only be one God.

This website does not prove the Trinity, it offers to explain the concept of the Trinity via a geometric model.
Below is a geometric model of 3 distinct shapes repeating endlessly into 1 infinite pattern. The pattern is infinitely SMALL and infinitely BIG. Scroll down to see the pattern develop within the triangle.

Note: Please use your mind's eye to "see" the infinite pattern based upon the images below. Only in your mind can you truly "see" or understand the infinite pattern due to the fact that this webpage is not infinite.

Think of this pattern repeating itself endlessly inside each of the 3 distinct shapes. Also the pattern repeats itself endlessly outside of each of the 3 distinct shapes.

Image 2: 3 shapes repeat within each of the 3 original shapes.
Image 3: 3 shapes repeat again within each of the 3 original shapes.
When the pattern repeats endlessly toward infinity then there is the geometric trinity of 3 distinct shapes but only 1 eternal pattern.
A geometric model of 3 distinct persons, but one Eternal God.


Let us look at how this geometric model can explain the Trinity.
According to the doctrine of the Trinity:
  • God is an infinite being who has no beginning and no end.

Likewise, with the geometric model to explain the Trinity:
  • The pattern is infinite, it has no beginning and no end.
According to the doctrine of the Trinity:
The 3 distinct persons are:
  1. The Father
  2. The Son
  3. The Holy Spirt
Likewise, in the geometric model to explain the Trinity:
The 3 distinct shapes are:
  1. The triangle
  2. The square
  3. The circle
According to the doctrine of the Trinity:
Each distinct person of the Trinity is equal in the infinite one God:
  1. The Father is unique yet has no beginning and no end.
  2. The Son is unique yet has no beginning and no end.
  3. The Holy Spirt is unique yet has no beginning and no end.
Likewise, in the geometric model to explain the Trinity:
Each distinct shape is equal in the infinite one pattern:
  1. The triangle shape is unique yet repeating in the infinite pattern, no beginning no end.
  2. The square shape is unique yet repeating in the infinite pattern, no beginning no end.
  3. The circle shape is unique yet repeating in the infinite pattern, no beginning no end.
By doing a comparison of the quotes of Jesus to the geometric model to explain the Trinity, a better understanding of what Jesus is saying is revealed:

Jesus said:
  • "...I am in the Father and the Father is in me..."   (John 14:10)
Likewise, in the Geometric model to explain the Trinity,
  • "...the square is in the triangle and the triangle is in the square..."

Jesus said: Likewise, in the Geometric model to explain the Trinity,
  • "...the square and the triangle are ONE in the infinite pattern..."
    When you have the square, you also have the triangle because the infinite pattern contains the square and the triangle.
Note: theologians say the word "ONE" means:
  • one in nature
  • one in exisitence
  • one in unity

In summary, the Trinity states:
  • there is One God with three distinct persons, yet still only One God. Each distinct person is equal in being God.
Likewise in the geometric model to explain the Trinity:
  • there is one infinite pattern with three distinct shapes, yet still only one infinite pattern. Each distinct shape is equal in being the 1 infinite pattern.
